About

As Principal of Elsie Allen High School, EAHS, in Santa Rosa from 2001 to 2018, Mary Gail was instrumental in partnering with Sonoma State University in creating The University Center, a specialized program whereby EAHS juniors and seniors spend part of their day taking SSU courses on our campus in order to prepare them for the rigors of post-secondary education.  Upon high school graduation, many students in The University Center earn enough college credit to advance their status to start college as second year students.

Recognized by the Sonoma State University with the Circle of Excellence, “Friend of the Program Award”, Mary Gail knows the value in welcoming SSU student teachers to a middle or high school campus in order to learn from seasoned professionals in the field.  Her vast experience in the 7-12 public secondary school setting enables our Sonoma State University Single Subject Secondary Credential candidates to be placed with expertly qualified mentors.
